India and Slum Dog Billionaire

“You wanna see a bit of real India, Here it is”

The Piercing tone of Battered Jamal Malik explodes in rage, when a local police cop strikes to defend the American tourist’s car theft. The tone that gains the sympathy and payment from the tourists also takes to stage the catastrophe of the local civilians to the sophisticated global audience.

India is a land of Diversity! Sky Scrapping IT infrastructures views through its windowpane the slum dwellers and road-side vagabonds. 7-star luxury hotels that lavishly host their celebrity customers, stands tall alongside the matchbox shaped asbestos-wooden tea shops, which provide for blue collared laborers. The E-class Benz and bull-a carts share the same chaotic roads that are filled with performers who are tagged as beggars.
India also stands in Unity against its diversity! With Hindu’s across different states (positioned poles apart), uniformly combat against the minority Muslims and Christians. Blue collared and the stylish white- collared, likewise bribe the government officers to make their affairs legally possible. The politicians, capitalists and Bollywood stars work together with the underworld Don’s so to preserve the synchronized support while making a commercial leverage. The rich and the poor together thirstily desire for the same kind of harlots, of course the one’s who actualizes does so with his wealth and the one’s who can’t, hunt down their innocent prey victims.

A developing country like India has much strength to boast about. The legislations both the Law and justices Act’s’ are the nation's most imperative asset, competently and skillfully drafted so to mount the status of every individual citizen who contributes to the success of its Marco economy. Despite this asset – Bharat’s very own strategic protocol for improvement, the advancements in the field of science, technology and education, has done nothing to eliminate the nation’s shame. The Moneyed Indians (unlike the historic white skinned British’s), still have the power. The poor Indians are still exploited for generating more money for the already moneyed. Poverty still remains the primary exhibit of Indian Face to the west. Our shame still takes stage as best documentary movies to qualify as best on the golden globe awards.

Indian Author Vikas Swarup, through his abstract characters navigates the plot fittingly through a series of environs, which brings to limelight theis factual face of MotherIndia. By knotting simple game show questions to answers that take root from poverty, illicitness, immorality and conflicts of a poor metro dweller, Mr. Swarup has graciously given the world unoffending scenarios of authentic India. Authentic India who’s authenticity can be viewed both sympathetic or as object ridicule.
Thanks to Daniel Bolye for introducing the plot of the Indian author on screen to the western/global audience. He for sure has shown a a bit of REAL INDIA, through the play called Slum Dog Millionaire :)
